Hiking holiday in Gastein

The Gastein valley offers some of the best hiking in the Austrian Alps. Countless routes take you to breathtaking waterfalls, dark blue mountain lakes, to majestic mountain tops or to rustic “Almhütten” serving Gastein specialities.

The Gastein tourist offices offer regular guided hikes. Local guides take you to the most popular and loveliest walking destinations in the Gastein valley. You can choose from easy, half-day hikes such as the wild herbs walk with tastings of herbal juices. Or from demanding all-day mountain summit experiences, as well as historic walks (mining and geology).
